It’s a Chinatown. It’s late. The fluorescent lights are on, the smell of oriental cooking wafts down the street as restaurants and fast food outlets get ready for the evening meal rush.
Shop owners are shutting down for the night and all is calm, or at least it was until Ding Aling ran into the street screaming!
Ting Aling, husband of Ding, is dead! Found lying amidst a mound of washing powder in his own prospering laundry, ‘Washem Kwik’.
Local business owners and associates of Ting Aling have all been called together to a local Chinese restaurant in a bid to uncover the truth of this Chinese puzzle.
How did Ting Aling die? And why?
The Cast:Essential Cast
Inspector Hoo Dun Wot - The detective sent to solve the crime. Efficient in his own peculiar way, Inspector Hoo Dun Wot has an unusual
method of solving crimes – he involves everyone!
Ding Aling – Co-owner of the Washem Kwik laundry.
Married to Ting Aling for over 15 years, Ding Aling is still only in her early 30’s and rather good looking.
Man Do Lin – Head of the local Chinatown mafia.
In made-to-measure suits and a flamboyant tie, Man Do Lin has the stereotypical image of a Chinese Mafiosi.
Mai Ling List – Owner of Yum Yum Scrum restaurant.
Always smartly dressed, Mai Ling List has quite a hard exterior, necessary in such a cut-throat business as hers, although rumour has it she is a bit of a softie underneath.
Fan See Man – Travelling salesman.
In a drab salesman-style, hard-wearing suit and with a briefcase of free samples ever to hand, Fan See Man has been there, seen it, done it and bought several T-shirts.
Ching Ching Boom – Girlfriend of Man Do Lin.
Young, sexy and fit, Ching Ching Boom uses her generous clothing allowance to maximise her many positive attributes.
Won Kee Nee – Herbalist.
Untidy in appearance and with no interest in clothing, Won Kee Nee tends to just grab whatever is nearest in his wardrobe and nothing ever matches.
Optional Cast:
Tai Ming Soff – Watchmaker.
Studious in nature, with a white laboratory coat, horn-rimmed glasses and hair tied back, Tai Ming Soff is actually a real scientific beauty.
Fan Kin Yu – Head of Talkie-talkie Telecom Company.
Favouring classic suits rather than fashionable ones, Fan Kin Yu is never seen without a copy of the British newspaper, The Financial Times.
Shu San Sox – Owner of Sum Feet, a shoe shop.
Dressed in dowdy plain blouses and trousers, no one would guess that Shu San Sox is an eminently successful businesswoman.
Wey Kei Waiki – Owner of Squee-Ki-Kleen, a rival laundry service.
A sly, sneaky, weaselly sort of person, Wey Kee Waiki wears cheap polyester ‘shiny suits’, nylon shirts and plastic shoes and uses far too much gel to slick back his greasy hair.
Sum Ting Wong – Quality control checker at the Washem Kwik laundry.
In a simple, cheap blouse and skirt, Sum Ting Wong is always spotlessly clean, reflecting her job role.
No Kan Doo – Owner of ParcelFast, a delivery company.
Not afraid to get his hands dirty and help out at the depot, No Kan Doo can look a little crumpled at times, and sometimes forgets to remove his work overalls.
Never run a large group mystery before? Then don't
panic! Hosting a Large Group Murder Mystery is time consuming, but with
ample preparation and a good cast it is really quite simple and great
fun! In large group games it is impossible to give everyone a part,
instead the mystery involves “cast members” who are fully in the know and act out
the mystery, and the guests act as detectives trying to solve the murder.
Large group games come in several different formats, clue based, cast
based, multi-room, single room, or a mixture of them all. This particular
game requires 7-13 cast, and one large room. It also has an option of a series
of paper clues. Guests will also need paper and pens. This game works best as a
sit down event with 6-12 tables of guests who work as a team, but the game can be
adapted to suit most formats of events. The game contains two options.
Option 1: All clues are provided by cast members.
Option 2: Guests receive questions to ask the suspects (cast members) on paper,
and have to find out the answers to these questions from the cast. To find out more information about Character Based single room games click here Character based mystery games for large groups.
