Tucked away on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, Healing Manor is a fine example of a traditional estate dwelling. Over the last few months, both the manor and its grounds have been lovingly restored and improved to create a unique leisure experience.

With refurbishments complete on the Bar and Restaurant, it was time to hold an extravagant opening night, allowing the guests to experience the wide range of cuisine on offer while touring the manor’s impressive facilities, fabulous gardens and water features.

Unfortunately, this evening has been thrown into disarray by the discovery of a dead body in the manor’s grounds; the current owner of Healing Manor, Mark Roundim.

With the recent police force cuts prompted by the credit crunch, the investigating officer has been unavoidably detained. Rather than lose business, Miss Tracy Roundim, the daughter of the deceased, has put her grief to one side and decided to use the murder to the hotel’s advantage, offering all the guests the opportunity to take part in a real murder enquiry!

The question is: can the guests solve the murder of who killed Mark Roundim before the police arrive?

The Cast:

• Viscountess Agatha Crusty (Previous owner of the Manor)
  Maturing like vintage wine, Viscountess Crusty is a feisty lady with a very dry sense of humour.



• Miss Lucinda Marbles (Companion to Viscountess Crusty)
  Refined and homely, Miss Lucinda Marbles is an honourable and respectable lady and the perfect companion to Viscountess Crusty.



• Ivor Spade (Groundsman)
  Earthy and strong, Ivor knows every inch of the manor grounds and has been working the land his entire life.



• Tracy Roundim (Daughter of the deceased)
  Attractive, efficient and friendly, Tracy knows how to make every guest at the manor feel welcome.



• Matt Finish (Painter/decorator)
  Responsible for renovating and redecorating the manor house, rumour has it that Matt Finish is in love with more than just the building.



• Al Dente (Chef)
  Arrogant, with limited patience and a fierce temper, Al Dente has a partiality for the culinary wine.



• Ben Wanderin (Vagrant)
  Dirty and dishevelled Ben Wanderin has been sleeping rough in the stables and smells distinctly of horses.



• Detective Inspector Dick Lacey (Detective)
  Detective Inspector Dick Lacey is required only to provide the solution speech. He does no other acting during the night and is not referred to in the scripts or guest handouts.

Never run a large group mystery before? Then don't panic!

Hosting a Large Group Murder Mystery is time consuming, but with ample preparation and a good cast it is really quite simple and great fun!

In large group games it is impossible to give everyone a part, instead the mystery involves “cast members” who are fully in the know and act out the mystery, and the guests act as detectives trying to solve the murder.

Large group games come in several different formats, clue based, cast based, multi-room, single room, or a mixture of them all.

This particular game requires 8 cast (who are fully in the know), use of 5 small rooms, a garden and some prop clues. The murder occurs before the guests arrive and the garden is the crime scene.

Your guests play the role of detectives. You can have any number of detectives for this mystery, your only limit is the size of your rooms, and the time you have available.
